Modelling treatment of deposits in particulate filters for internal combustion emissions

Internal combustion in transport vehicles is still one of the biggest contributors to ultrafine particle emissions which have been proven many adverse effects on human health and environment general. To mitigate this problem a variety filters developed along with these whole range models aiming optimise filter performance. This paper reviews wide particulate for vehicular emission control presents volume work unified consistent notation. Particle filtration are examined respect their efficiency, way they handle deposits within wall, formation cake role catalytic conversion effect gaseous emission. Further, impact chemical physical properties regeneration process analysed reaction pathways rates presented. In addition accumulation ash its behaviour critically reviewed. Finally, various measures identified that can potentially improve current models.
